Relationship Counseling
Relationships can present unique pathways to understanding and addressing some of our deepest wounds. They can also provide a nurturing space for healing and joy. When we encounter challenges in our most intimate relationships, we have the opportunity to create even stronger bonds not only with others but also ourselves. The skills, bonds, and experiences we build in our most intimate relationships can have ripple effects throughout the span of our lives and the breadth of our communities.
Clients typically seek relationship counseling with me because they are navigating stress, struggling with communication, or simply looking to better nourish their connections. Every relationship goes through periods of struggle that you don’t have to handle alone. I am here to work through this with you.
I leave it up to you to determine who you bring with you to relationship counseling. Other providers often refer to this service as “couples therapy.” However, a lack of (or undefined) romantic or sexual involvement does not preclude you from relationship counseling. No matter the relationship, please feel free to reach out for a free consult and we can discuss further.
Some themes I see in my work:

Sex & Intimacy
Faith & Cultural Differences
Communication
Race, Gender, Power & Privilege

Do you take health insurance?
Not at the moment. You may however be able to use your insurance company’s out-of-network benefits or Health Savings Account/Flexible Spending Account to pay for sessions. Here are some questions to ask your insurance provider for more information.
Are there benefits to paying out of pocket?
Yes. You can read more about them here.
What if I’m not sure I can afford counseling sessions?
If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out. There are a range of options we can discuss and explore. For instance, I may have a low-cost slot open to you. I may be able to connect you with trusted colleagues who can see you within your budget and take your insurance. Or you may be eligible to receive services for free at one of the organizations I am connected to. There are a number of options. I’m committed to discussing your needs and recommending options.
You can also check out my Resources page where I list a variety of organizations that provide LGBTQ+ & BIPOC competent care, often at low or no cost.
